Ability to Perform all Surplus Lines Filings
S.H. Smith & Company has the ability to handle all surplus lines filings and taxes on business we place on your behalf. In addition, all of our proposals include a partially completed affidavit for the ease of the insured. We have a complete licensing/compliance staff in our home office ready to iron out any complicating issues.

Dedicated Claims Department
We allow insureds to report claims directly to carriers. Our in-house Claims Department includes specialists committed to assisting you in the efficient resolution of claims. Claims can be reported and loss runs requested quickly and easily on our website. And while on-line access to claims is currently not available, all information can be obtained by email or fax with a request to our claims department.

Our proprietary system includes state-of-the-art servers and hardware, Citrix-based software, and is built on a visual basic platform. Our two full-time, on staff programmers, along with a full-time IT manager, enable the highest level of quality control, minimizing potential errors and omissions difficulties. This totally paperless system allows for greater efficiency when marketing quotes. Our automated renewal system provides for enhanced customer service. And our submission system keeps our agent informed every step of the process.
